Investing in industrial park (IP) infrastructure, accelerating land clearance, and creating ready-to-use industrial land have become top priorities for Lam Dong Province as it seeks to attract large-scale, high-tech investment projects and improve industrial park occupancy rates. With multiple infrastructure projects moving forward, the province aims to create a breakthrough in investment attraction and support sustainable economic growth in the coming years.
1. Thirteen New Projects Raise Industrial Park Occupancy to 55.7%
During the first seven months of 2026, industrial parks across Lam Dong attracted 13 new investment projects covering 21.04 hectares, including:
- 2 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects
- 11 domestic investment projects
This represents 76.47% of the province’s annual target in terms of the number of projects.
At the same time:
- 13 secondary investment projects are under construction.
- Total investment value has reached approximately VND 2.72 trillion.
Thanks to continued investment inflows, the province’s industrial park occupancy rate has increased to 55.7%, with:
- 251 active projects
- 59 FDI projects
- 192 domestic projects
- Nearly 740 hectares of registered industrial land.
2. Industrial Park Infrastructure Continues to Improve
Alongside investment promotion, infrastructure developers are accelerating technical infrastructure upgrades to better accommodate new industrial projects.
Ham Kiem I Industrial Park
According to the 2026 development plan, the developer will continue to:
- Maintain and upgrade technical infrastructure.
- Improve internal transportation systems.
- Prepare the remaining 42.52 hectares of industrial land for future investors.
Ham Kiem II Industrial Park
The developer aims to:
- Complete the remaining infrastructure works by August 2026.
- Lease approximately 100 hectares of industrial land to secondary investors during the year.
Well-developed infrastructure enables investors to accelerate factory construction and begin production sooner.
3. Land Clearance Accelerates Across Key Industrial Parks
The Provincial Industrial Park Management Board is coordinating with local authorities to speed up land acquisition and site clearance for several strategic projects, including:
- Son My I
- Son My II (Phase 1)
- Tan Duc
- Loc Son
- Phu Hoi
- Nhan Co 2
- Tuy Phong
- Phan Thiet (Phase 2)
Accelerating land clearance is essential for creating ready-to-build industrial sites that meet investor expectations.
4. Son My I Industrial Park Expected to Become a New Growth Engine
Among the province’s priority developments, Son My I Industrial Park is regarded as one of the most important industrial projects.
Key highlights include:
- Project size: 1,074 hectares.
- More than 80% of the project area has been surveyed and inventoried.
- Legal verification has been completed for approximately 551.64 hectares.
Provincial leaders have instructed all relevant agencies to accelerate implementation with the goal of attracting investors by the end of 2026.
Once operational, Son My I Industrial Park is expected to:
- Attract large-scale industrial projects.
- Create significant employment opportunities.
- Increase provincial budget revenues.
- Strengthen regional industrial supply chains.
5. Ready-to-Use Industrial Land Is the Key to Attracting Major Investors
According to the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, although land clearance has made encouraging progress, the availability of clean, ready-to-use industrial land still falls short of meeting the needs of large investment projects.
Current challenges include:
- Land valuation.
- Verification of land ownership and origin.
- Resettlement arrangements.
- Completion of legal procedures.
Resolving these issues will accelerate infrastructure development and enhance the attractiveness of Lam Dong’s industrial parks.
6. High-Tech Investment Still Has Significant Growth Potential
Although the number of investment projects has increased steadily, the overall investment value remains below expectations.
During the first seven months of 2026:
- Total registered investment reached more than VND 640 billion.
- Including VND 570.331 billion and US$2.7 million in foreign investment.
- Equivalent to only 4.74% of the province’s annual investment target.
This indicates considerable potential to attract more projects in areas such as:
- High technology.
- High value-added manufacturing.
- Environmentally sustainable production.
- Strategic industries with strong spillover effects.
7. Occupancy Rate Target Exceeds 75% by 2030
According to Resolution No. 14, issued on May 26, 2026, by the Standing Committee of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee on industrial development through 2030, the province has set ambitious goals:
- Develop 35 industrial parks by 2030.
- Achieve an occupancy rate of over 75% for industrial parks currently under development.
- Reach approximately 55% occupancy for industrial parks established during the 2026–2030 period.
In addition, the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board aims to attract approximately 20 new investment projects in 2027, further expanding industrial production and supporting long-term economic growth.
Industrial Park Infrastructure: The Foundation for New Investment
As competition for foreign direct investment intensifies, modern industrial park infrastructure, ready-to-use industrial land, and faster project implementation have become critical competitive advantages for localities across Vietnam.
For Lam Dong, strategic projects such as Son My I, Son My II, Ham Kiem I, and Ham Kiem II are expected to open new opportunities for industrial expansion, attract major manufacturers, and accelerate the province’s transition toward a modern industrial economy.
Conclusion
Accelerating industrial park infrastructure investment, speeding up land clearance, and expanding the supply of ready-to-use industrial land are laying a strong foundation for Lam Dong to attract higher-quality investment projects. With a goal of developing 35 industrial parks by 2030, achieving an occupancy rate of over 75%, and prioritizing high-tech industries, the province is steadily building a modern industrial ecosystem that will drive sustainable economic growth for years to come.
